The most important factors that attracts the tourism to go to Terengganu is the foods. There are a lot of delicious foods at Terengganu that you can never taste it the same at other places in the world. A few cuisine that must be taste when you are at Terengganu are:

  • Bubur Lambuk Terengganu -Bubur lambut or herbs rice porridge is a Terengganu traditional porridge cook with differ kinds of herbs, sweet potatoes, fish crackers, dry prawn etc. Young leaves and shoots of paku miding that are found growing on peat swamp forest is one of bubu lambut ingredients. unlike the bubur lambuk from Kg. Baru, Bubur Lambuk Terengganu still using the traditional ingredients. It is delicious.


  • Nasi Dagang - The nasi dagang or trader’s rice is a choice meal for locals. This famous dish is synonymous with the East Coast and can be found everywhere in Terengganu. It is a mixture of normal and glutinous rice eaten with a variety of aromatic curries and dishes. The most popular accompaniment however is spicy tuna fish curry and piquant vegetable pickles.


  • Laksam - A delightful yet simple dish, the Laksam is made using both wheat and rice Flours, and the dough is steamed. The gravy is made of fish meat, which is boiled, pureed, and later mixed with coconut milk.

  • Sata - Sata is an interesting blend of succulent boneless fish marinated in spices, wrapped in banana leaves and grilled over a flaming charcoal fire. Its sweet taste is tinged with the delicate smell of the wrapping, making it a great appetizer and healthy snack.


  • Keropok - Keropok is a popular fried snack in Terengganu. It is made of fish meat, ground to a paste and mixed with sago. Prepared in two different forms, the long chewy ones are called lekor, while the thin, crispy ones are called keping. Keropok is best eaten hot with its special chilli dip. The most famous place to buy keropok is Losong.
